I believe in God, but not Jesus. So what?

I guess the reason why I write this is because I have many friends that believe in God, but not Jesus. I guess, I always thought it was better than not even believing in God at all. I hoped that they would eventually come to know Jesus. But it seems that believing only in God and believing in Jesus & God are two totally separate things. Knowing the first does not lead you to Heaven.

This is tragedy because the Bible tells us that Jesus said:
I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father(God), but through Me(Jesus). John 14:6
Jesus taught that:
He who does not honor the Son(Jesus) does not honor the Father(God) who sent Him. John 5:23
Jesus claimed to be one with the Father (John 5:18; 12:45) and made it clear that:
... he who rejects Me, rejects the One who sent Me. Luke 10:16

In essence, if you do not believe in Jesus, but you do believe in God, then that means you believe in a different God than I do. You’re God is not the God of the holy Bible and not the same God that Christians believe in.

For all of us who believe in the Name of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, we have this teaching from the Bible: And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, which is the only way that we can truly do all to the glory of God. Colossians 3:17 & 1 Corinthians 10:31
