In Ra (boardgame), the plains must be flooded by the nile each round to score points. Flooding doesn't happen all the time. You must find it.

Blessing taught/shared with us about flooding. We played a board game.

You must be re-filled with holy spirit by being in God's presence regularly. Overflowing (new testament)
You must make time to seek God. To be open to His leading and his work. You must seek him for your heart to be open.

When the floods come, you must be on firm foundation. Floods come to all, whether you build on sand or on Rock.

Move the water away from people
- levies, burms, canals, irrigation
Move people away from the the water
- Mother nature. Hard to predict and control
Live with the water
- build our places to live with the flooding
- “climate ready house”
- build a space that people can go to experience flooding. A place built to benefit from the flooding.

In modern times, the Nile does not flood every summer. The Aswan High Dam was built in 1970. This dam controls the flow of the river while using the water's power to generate electricity for Egypt.

- what have you built that prevents the flooding that the land needs?

- the great flood. to purify the world. To clean. Old testament.

The river carries water and rich soil down from the hills, and when it flooded, this black mud spread across the river banks. This mud allowed Egyptian farmers to grow crops. Only the area around the Nile is fertile enough to farm.

Cleansing flood is opportunity to upgrade.

I just wanted to share what’s on my heart and mind. It’s mostly a brain dump (related to the board game) but maybe it can be a blessing to some of you.
In the old testament, we had the great flood (cleansing of sin). In the new testament, we speak of overflowing of the Holy Spirit. In modern day, we speak of revival floods and have worship songs like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rzs_xasdkrc
Coincidentally, in my favorite board game, called “Ra”, the Nile needs to be flooded each round to score points. In Egypt, they needed the flooding of the Nile to make the land fertile for farming and growing. They built Aswan High Dam in 1970 to control the flooding. What burms have we built in our lives/hearts to stop His flooding?
Do we want to move ourselves away from the water for safety (pray for Nova Scotia) or do we want to live with the water? Or even in deep water like Avatar (the movie, not anime). Would you step out of the boat like Peter?
Our old houses are already built, but not flood ready. But it’s expensive to rebuild. It takes sacrifice. It takes community. We need to build on a firm foundation, not on sand. Our hearts need to be climate ready built. Are we open to God’s filling, leading and work?

June 26. 2020

It's 3:10am… I'm listening to Jeremy Riddle Holy Ground album… I am being consumed by the worship… the prayer room still won't leave me… I keep thinking about how to make it sustainable etc… pairing it with a business… patreon… kickstarter… What part does Pastor Kat play. Is it time to share this vision with her? She will push me… Is God teaching me how to make money on the stock market so I can build it? “If you build it they will come…” My mind is all over the place, which is why I am on here journaling so I don't forget things… Especially these points:

Sept 16, 2019

I am 40 years old now. I have 3 month old twins and a 3 year old daughter. But this vision still has a grasp of my heart. If you build it, they will come. Why did that stick out to me so much in the “Field of Dreams” movie as a child. Just buy a piece of land Jackson. Just start. You need to just start.

You might need to sacrifice your comfort for this dream. Seek discomfort. Why are you drawn to Yes Theory?

At camp by Edmonton (2017?), the speaker said God has not forgotten your dreams. Just focus on the web side. Your strategies and such are correct. I have put some energy into the websites since but not as much as I should. The websites are not the focus. They will grow once the room is actually real.

You are uniquely designed. You are skilled craftsman. You know technology and have a cousin who geeks out automation/security. How many years have passed? This is getting easier to maintain but still hard to finance.

Door code can be reset online. Security cameras are dirt cheap (Wyze). Fund raisers like go fund me and kickerstarter are a cinch to run. I ran a cancer fundraiser for $5000 for work. Was this to teach me the way?

Should I try to generate more income via the stock market and my tfsa? My templeton is soon to be liquidated. What does the alabaster house have to do with all this?

Start the plan and purchase some land. This year we took down the prayer room in our house to make room for the twins. We started using the prayer room supplies for other things like weddings and such. Is the dismantling of our prayer room our chance to start a new one? or the death of a dream? Who do you need to talk to about this vision? Sam will need to be involved for sure. My dad? would he understand? or try to talk me out of it?
Pastor Katherine? Andy Wilson?

Finances? Family? Risk it all? I want it God's way. God what is your timing? Speak to me please. OR have you already? Open my ears so that I may hear and heed your voice. Forgive me for disobedience. For distraction. How many talents have you given this servant? Fear or laziness? You need discernment. Is it time to talk to Pastor Katherine? Fear? Laziness? … or impatience?

With Age come wisdom… Don't need it all at once. Start small. Just get going. Even if the space is tiny. If it is God ordained, it might as well be a small box like the Arc of the covenant. Indiana Jones. The holy grail. My mind wanders… Strip off the camouflage… Scatter the excuse parade… Stand for what you believe in. See through life's illusion… I can't even remember the vision for Jesus Expo…

Ten years ago, a younger version of myself designed this Poster and lit the fires of over 200 volunteers. But like always my documentation is speaking to my future self. One who is more jaded, but more wise. More trusting in God, but less willing to take risks.

Do I want my children to grow up with a personal prayer room? I built a water station for summer use. What about a prayer room for year round use? How will you teach Clara about God?

Even for just yourself… Sunday worship is so short now… work is so busy… home life with the twins… When can you focus on God? Not being on the worship team…

From Johnny (July 28, 2013)

As briefly touch on the above subject, I’ll provide you with some scriptures & hopefully they will generate some useful thought in your mind toward a better understanding of the important of prayers. I will leave it to you to ask any questions after the initial study.

  • Jacob had 12 sons but not all were born from his official wives Leah and Rachael. The strife between them for honour have motivated their senseless greet to get their servant girls to sleep with Jacob. Rachael was barren and so was Leah after given birth to 4 sons. (Gen 29 31-32; 30:3. Read both Gen 29 & 30).
  • Rachael’s maid Bilhah bore 2 sons (Dan & Naphtali) and Lean’s Zilpah gave birth to Gad & Asher.
  • In Gen 30:17 – 18, “And God listened to Leah”. Leah was conceived again without using “mandrakes” a fertility herb and an aphrodisiac that her sons bought from the market. She instead trusted God in exchange for the wisdom & methods of the world. Issachar was born (Gen 30: 14 – 18).
  • Interesting enough, the end of barrenness for Leah and she gave birth to Zebulun and a daughter Dinah. Rachel became fertile and gave birth to Joseph & Benjamin. It was interesting to note that the strife ended after the birth of Issachar.

Issachar was not born of an organization or worldly method. Issachar was born in a period of opportunity in the midst of barrenness. Leah saw this opportunity and she cried out to God. It starts by prayer. Desperate prayer to solve a seemingly impossible situation. The intercessory movement is birthed by God as a sign that spiritual barrenness in our land and/or our church have to come to an end. CPC is at this stage.

Read:

  • Gen 49. The blessings of Jacob to all his sons. Issachar is written in verse 14 – 15.
  • 1 Chronicles 12. Issachar is in verse 32. They had understanding of the times…….
  • Deut 33. Issachar in verses 18 – 19.

Birth of many intercessors came after Deut 33.

Study the above, ask God to open your spiritual doors and start asking question. I’ll provide you with more insight into Prayer, Fasting & Intercessor when you have bigger spiritual appetite to learn.

Jackson adds

  • summon peoples to the mountain
    • calls people to pray, to be with God, to secret places… to sacrifice?
  • understood the times and knew what Israel should do
    • understands society, influence etc. Knows what to pray for… wisdom
  • Deuteronomy 33:18 …and you, Issachar, in your tents.
    • Thought/Reminder: I used to have many dreams/thoughts of moveable quick set up Prayer Tents. At camp… street festivals… set up wherever we need them…
  • like a donkey
    • sees how good is his resting place and how pleasant is his land, he will bend his shoulder to the burden and submit to forced labor
      • sees how good God's place is and is willing to toil.
      • or… gets comfortable and lazy and let's the enemy make him a slave.
    • Possible Warning/Trap: donkeys work hard. But when the load is too much, they just sit down.
      • Tribe of Issachar were willing to work hard, but when things got too bad and the enemies of Israel invaded the land, they were satisfied to just sit down and let others to the fighting for them.
      • He would not fight for his land. He was strong, but passive and lazy. He preferred to take it easy.
      • or donkey needs seasons of rest between hard work. Donkey waits patiently between two burdens. Willing to be enslaved to reach ultimate goal.
aside
  • remember donkeys are viewed differently today than in the past.
    • lots of people had donkeys. They were use to carry stuff/people. a labourous animal.
  • Isaiah 1:3 The donkey knows his owner's manger
    • knows the house of the lord. The house of prayer… how the church works…
  • Jesus rode in on a donkey entering the Jerusalem. Pharasees didn't notice
    • ushers in the move of God.
    • donkey is more lowly and humble than a pretty horse. God values humility more than physical beauty, prestige and strength
      • but jesus returns ona white horse?
    • baby donkey? childlike? reaching?
  • Numbers 22:21-31 The donkey could see the Angel of God. The Lord spoke through the donkey
    • People will attack you initially for speaking the truth/God's direction/words. But because of your faithfulness, they will see the truth.
  • rawboned
  • why such strong contrast/contradiction/uncertainty/ambiguity?
    • for a purpose? You choose which type of donkey to be.
    • a humble leader can be lazy and no one will notice. because they don't take pride in their service and don't take stage glory, it is easier for them to dissappear when they want. They can bow to apathy or comfort and not be condemned by their peers.

A few years after moving into my house in Thornecliffe

  1. in the prayer room at home
    • if you pray every morning, God will bring revival. Fire from heaven.
    • 2 Chronicles 7:1-3 - As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. 2 And the priests could not enter the house of the Lord, because the glory of the Lord filled the Lord's house. 3 When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the Lord on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
