Back ups

Data Centres

  • The POS ASP servers are protected from fire by data-safe methods. All servers are in Tier 3 data centers that include purpose built data-safe fire suppression systems.
  • The power supply, temperature and humidity control systems for the POS ASP server room must be safeguarded with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with stored power sufficient to maintain the delivery of service for a minimum of 60 minutes. This is supported by our data centers.
  • The UPS must be able to alert the system administrator and / or users when the UPS is running on standby power due to a power outage. Yes, the UPS will provide an alert to the system administrator when the system has switched to alternate power source due to a power outage.

Encryption

  • Yes, we use TLS (successor to SSLv3) and 256 bit encryption
  • To store the encrypted backups offsite and to store the keyword separately from the backups. Currently, the backups are not encrypted but the ssh access to the backup machine is secured. Please add this to the feature list so I can make the appropriate changes.

Full/Partial/Incremental back ups

  • The backup program is capable of running full and incremental backups. But currently it's doing only full backups.

Frequency

  • Recommended: Weekly software backups are maintained for eight weeks, monthly backups for one year, and annual backups for two years.
  • Currently, we have 2 weeks of daily backups. Please add this to the feature list so I can make the appropriate changes to the backup script
