Summary of Use Cases (from Midnapore clinic)

Jackson: These use cases were observed at a clinic in midnapore. We may not support all these features initially but you get an idea of their workflow and the software they are used to using. Also note that the work flow they establish at Imagine Health Centres may not be identical.

Receptionist

  1. send message/task to other staff

Appointments

  1. answer phone call
    1. schedule an appointment (existing patient/new patient)
  2. drop in patient (existing patient/new patient)
    1. schedule an appointment
    2. wants immediate appointment (walk in)
  3. claim a walk in into a doctors schedule
  4. change an appointment
  5. cancel an appointment

Arrivals

  1. update patients personal information
    1. edit medication list etc
  2. check in / check out a patient
  3. assign them to a room

Paperwork

  1. scan a fax / letter and attach/tag to patient file
  2. receive a digital file and attach/tag to patient file
    1. reviewed / unreviewed tag
  3. removing coversheet from docs

Nurse

  1. assign them to a room
  2. update patients personal information
  3. take vitals and enter into chart
  4. make special notes for doctor and enter into soap area of chart
  5. send message/task to other staff

Doctor

see patient

  1. look at nurses notes left by nurse for doctor
  2. Enter the SOAP notes
    1. Look at patients allergies / medications
    2. Look at patients labs / xrays / netcare portal
      1. labs request form
    3. Look at patients family history / problem list / social habits
    4. Look at patients previous visit
    5. Look at patients referrals
  3. Fill out billing information (sometimes this is done at the end of the day in a batch)
  4. sign and lock chart
  5. print lab result, print label (patient summary)

other

  1. Check next appointment
  2. claim a drop in into a doctors schedule
  3. send message/task to other staff

Allied Health Workers

  1. they did not have any nutritionists/physio/masseuse or anything but we should plan for this future feature
