I cannot believe it's been almost a month since I have updated… so news… I have been nominated to be deacon at church again… I knew it was coming… and had already mentally already decided I would do another term… But I haven't been able to set aside time to seek God's will about the whole matter yet… It feels like I haven't been helping at church as much as I would like… I mean I still do mission fund stuff, website stuff, camp stuff and a little guitar, but it feels like I need to be doing vision casting, fire lighting type stuff… The other big factor is that I was also asked to be the president of the CCCBPA which has much potential but would be alot of work and growing pains… I am a little cautious of my ambitions for the BPA since I originally signed on just to support and be a “young person” pillar until bridges could be made… I was supposed to measure fruit after two years… and there isn't as much fruit as I am used to in the ministries I am involved in, but there is still much good fruit… and then there's the whole thought that I am so willing to do deaconship because it should be easier than chairing the BPA…. aiiii….

*sigh*… all I know is that I cannot commit to doing both… I can be on both boards… but cannot chair one… if I chair one, I would have to drop off the other board… it wouldn't be fair to either ministry to split my time like that… not to mention the other ministries I am involved in as well… I also have to remember I am engaged and do need to eventually plan a wedding :P :) … and renovate my house and still maintain a semblance of a social life… and not neglect my family… aiiii…. oh and still take care my myself in terms of eating and sleeping… it's funny how I thought of that last… no more hospital trips!!! :P :)

It's been 4 years since I was first nominated to be a deacon… I served a 2 year term and dropped off to stagger myself from Clem since you cannot serve more that 4 years in a row… so now would be when he has to quit and I should go back on… at the time I dropped off, it felt like I didn't need to be there… like the work I was there to do was done… and now it sort of feels like I need to be there again… it's weird how everything in my life seems to be starting anew… I have been at SMART Technologies for 6 years now, as of today… and on Friday we are moving into the new headquarters by the university… I'm actually quite excited… well… that's enough for now… I will try not to wait a whole month before posting again!! :)

One last thing… The CCCBPA Christmas banquet is Sun, Dec 7… Phil Callaway will be speaking on “Enriching Life without Money”. Let me know if you want tickets…

So at work today, my coworker sent me a link pointing to a bbc article about tainted candy from China.

What do you know? It's the white rabbit candy. The kind that I have been eating since I was little boy. And on a special note, the kind that I brought to work a few weeks back and the kind that my other coworker brought to work just last week. So yeah, I have been secretly poisoning my coworkers… -and myself.

The conversation somehow lead to not being able to eat anything anymore with the China Melamime scare and the recent maple leaf scare… I guess I'll be just eating tomatoes from my garden… which lead to my coworker asking if the bunnies were eating my tomatoes… which led to my other coworker mentioning that his mom used to have this wind powered garden ornament/machine that she used to scare away the bunnies.

If you put a fake cat in your garden, would bunnies stay away? like crows and a scarecrow or… pigeons and those fake ceramic owls they put on roof tops? Are pigeons or bunnies smarter? Trained pigeons used to deliver messaged… could bunnies deliver messages? :)

Back to the question. Are bunnies eating my tomatoes? I said no, even though I have seen a bunny hanging around my front lawn quite close to the garden… then I started to really think about it… the tomatoes seem to rippen so slowly… I only get a few red ones each time, even though there are hundred's of green ones… perhaps… perhaps the bunny is just eating the red ones and waiting for the green ones to rippen!!

Are bunnies that smart? Then I was reminded of the bunny I saw waiting at an intersection in chinatown. I was on the other side of the street. After about a minute, when the light turned to “walk”, it crossed the street, passing right by me going in the other direction. It was the strangest thing ever… it was not scared of me and I swear, it was waiting for the walk light.

So do you think the bunnies are eating all my red tomatoes? …I guess it's ok if they are… since they are my friends anyways. :P :)

So my life is at a more sustainable pace again… man… August and early Sept were a little too crazy… I even started watching TV again… I have fallen really far behind in all the shows I follow… and now I have some time to spend on a few of the projects I have ongoing… like the CCCBPA website and the redesign for jacklyn's studio website… maybe I will even have some time to do some things around the house… maybe assemble some of the furniture I have bought… connect with people I've been meaning to meet up with… do some reading…

my bro's wedding went really well… and I was pretty satisfied with my speech delivery… The CCCBPA Christmas banquet is Sept 7, that's a sunday night. Let me know if you want tix. I am selling :) I think they are $48 for Coast Plaza Hotel and the speaker is Phil Calloway ←- is that how you spell it? he's pretty famous… oh and he's talking about happiness without money… so it should be good :)
